Connect Case Studies

Example 1: An entertainment show nightclub
This business has two dozen locations across the U.S., each
in a different city, and has plans to open a few new locations
each year. The business felt it was important to create an
advertising campaign that could be rolled out for all locations,
enabling senior management to control the content and consolidate
costs. They also desired to have a single 800 number to include
in the advertising.
Other service providers the company contacted discussed the
costly approach of building static routing tables. Static
Routing tables are error-prone, and subject to inevitable
maintenance nightmares with area-code changes, location
changes or additions, etc.

Arch 'table-less' routing solutions
made it possible to implement Dealer Connect for the customer by
simply loading the location's physical addresses, and specifying
certain parameters such as distance limits and the default location.
Within hours and for minimal cost, the company had a working Dealer
Connect solution that requires no ongoing maintenance.
The business integrated Arch Name
& Address Capture as well. This service uses reverse
phone directories to determine the name and address of callers.
By capturing this information, the business is able to build a database
of customers for direct marketing campaigns.
Example 2: Optometry and Eyewear Retailer
This retailer has a few hundred locations, with 2 or 3 locations
in major metropolitan areas. They advertise a single 800 number
through a variety of print and direct
mail marketing efforts.
As with the first case, routing based on static
tables presented challenges. With multiple locations in a
single city, the problems with table based routing are worse because
it attempts to relate 10 digit phone
numbers to geographic areas based on approximations, resulting in
significant routing errors. Further 10-digit routing requires
huge tables, with greatly increased setup and maintenance costs.
With Arch 'table-less' routing, the
customer is able to take advantage of simple routing in those
areas with a single location, and incorporate rules based intelligent
routing where more than one location may serve a customer.
The application works like this. In those
areas with a single location (within the defined distance limits
of the caller), the call is automatically routed. In those
areas with multiple locations, if no clear choice is available,
the caller is prompted with a choice of locations and directed based
on their touch-tone choice. Another option for this application
would be to prompt the caller for their zip code and calculate and
route the call based on the response.
As with all of our Intelligent Routing solutions, this implementation
requires virtually no maintenance
and allows for new locations to be loaded and routed dynamically.
Example 3: Day Care Center
This company operates over 1,000 day care centers across the country.
In major metropolitan areas with high population densities, there
are centers very close to each other. This company also decided
that a single 800 number company-wide was important for both marketing
and efficiency benefits.
The company considered several routing service providers before
selecting Arch. Other providers promised they could build 10-digit
routing tables to correctly route the calls. However, that approach
is just not workable for many reasons. For one, it attempts to relate
10 digit phone numbers to geographic areas based on approximations,
resulting in significant routing errors. Further 10-digit routing
requires huge tables, with greatly increased setup and maintenance
costs. In reality, the vendors just aren't capable of maintaining
these databases correctly.
Arch provided a better approach.
With technology licensed from our strategic partner, Arch can provide
routing based on a database that contains information about every
land-line in America, over 800-million numbers. The database doesn't
make assumptions about where the number is; through exclusive licensing
agreements with telecom companies, marketing companies and others,
the database has exact address information on substantially every
number in the country. This database is maintained monthly, receiving
millions of updates every month to insure complete accuracy.
For routing applications requiring
the highest degree of accuracy, with high density locations, no
other solution can come close to providing the same level
of service. In fact, our strategic partner holds several patents
related to this type of routing, and has successfully defended the
exclusive right to offer such services in recent litigation.
